“We had a wonderful stay at Marine Inn! My father in law had worked here almost 40 years ago, so it was a special family treat for us to stay here. They took extra good care of us - they arranged for our rooms to be close together, helped us take family photos, took us on a tour and showed us photos of the original facility. The hotel itself was newly renovated and our room offered a nice view of the ocean in bed, the highlight of the rooms were the nicely renovated showers. The location is excellent, walking distance to good restaurants and the ferry terminal, which allowed hubby to wake up early and get inline while our sleepy kids got an few extra minutes in. Please note there are stairs to the second floor, so if you need mobility assistance, best to stay on the first floor. All in all it was a memorable stay for our 3 families!”

“Stayed at the Marine Inn and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The room was spotless, modern, and thoughtfully laid out. Super comfortable king bed, a large TV, and a bathroom that felt freshly renovated with a fantastic walk-in shower. Everything was clean, solid, and well maintained. The view is the real knockout—looking straight out over the water and harbor never gets old, whether it’s morning light or evening calm. One of those rooms where you actually stop and take it in. Location is excellent: close to the ferry, walkable to amenities, and easy to get in and out of town. Quiet when it needs to be, convenient all the time. Staff were friendly and accommodating, and the whole place felt professionally run without being stiff or impersonal. If you’re staying in Powell River, this is absolutely a top-tier choice. I’d book here again without a second thought.”

“It was a nicely renovated place. However with no elevator and a very steep long staircase it was not ideal. There wasn’t coffee cups in our room and they weren’t able to provide us with a wake-up call. But easy fixes. The musty smell from the old building was still apparent.”

“Wow!!! What a lovely surprise! We noticed the updated exterior of the building when we drove into Powell River this year, and ended up spending the last night of our sunshine coast trip here. The rooms were very recently updated, clean and very comfortable. The rain shower was amazing, the towels fluffy and bigger than my 8 year old, the beds very comfortable (love the blankets!)!!! The staff was friendly while checking in. All in all a great experience! Will definitely be back.”

“The staff were very friendly and helpful. The interior of the hotel has been newly renovated and the beds were comfy. It is right beside the ferry terminal, which means there is a bit of traffic noise but lots to see out the window.”

“Nicely redecorated and updated hotel... amazing what fresh, new wallpaper can do, unfortunately it didn't make up for how cramped our room was, nor did it make up for the lack of elevator, which we weren't notified of when booking the room, neither on line, nor when we spoke with the reservations agent or the front desk person on the phone... it was quite difficult for our elderly mother and two of us with bad knees, as was the lack of available parking spots on site, making us park a few blocks away from the hotel. The location is nicely central, with in walking distance to many restaurants, cafes and parks. The staff was friendly and accommodating, though the concierge was incredible unknowledgeable of Powell River over all... insisted that there are no restaurants open for brunch on Sunday, which wan't true. She didn't know that there is a heritage 'town site' area, as well as several other neighbourhood besides from the one the hotel is in. The cleanliness of the rooms and common areas was top notch. Unfortunately the pet friendly room we were in had a roof top full of metal ducts and the likes for a view, though I'm told that there are many rooms with beautiful, ocean views.”

“Hotel has been totally renovated and will stand alongside any in Powell River. Of course it is an old building and there are a few quirks. Get over it. It's Powell River not New York City. EXCELLENT new showers. Excellent beds. Decor similar across all the properties this chain owns. We stayed in the Coast Courtenay a few nights before and it was very similar. Best feature of the Marine Inn are the two gracious ladies who manage the front desk. Friendly, helpful and professional. They both insisted on helping us haul a bunch of camping gear from our car into the room. Way above and beyond. Most rooms do not have the view of the Beach Gardens but location and condition of the rooms help make up for that.”
